<<<<<<I will not be able to ship any shift knobs until
the first week of September as I will be out of town until that time. I
apologize for any inconvenience. I'll still be available for questions
and will answer emails and return calls. >>>>>>>
When you get a new, or new-to-you truck, you get it home and it can
seem so perfect. It's got everything you wanted as far as options go
and you couldn't be happier. After a few days, you start to notice
things that you might want to change or upgrade. I start with things
that I will notice the most and will make the biggest difference to me.
If you've got a manual transmission, you're aware of the boring
stock plastic piece with the 1-2-3-4-5-6-R pattern on the plastic knob
that slowly rotates as time goes by. You memorized the shift pattern
after you looked at it for the first 5 seconds when you bought the
truck. Why keep it on there?
Here's a solution. Diesel-max.com has sourced a shift knob made by a
craftsman that cares about the quality of his product. I've searched
for a knob like this and they are VERY difficult to find. Carved from
Made In U.S.A bar stock 6061 billet aluminum, each knob takes 1.5 hours
to manufacture. This knob feels very solid in your hand. I have found
knobs that were similar to this one, but weren't a full size replica of a
revolver cylinder (the cap just looked like one) and some that weren't
polished and had that "brushed aluminum" look to them. This is exactly
what we were looking to provide for our customers that wanted the
authentic look of the revolver cylinder on their shift lever.
The knob measures 1.75 inches in diameter and 2 inches in height.
This knob is threaded to fit the Dodge 5 and 6 speed transmissions and
transfer case levers. It will fit the NV5600 and the G56. It will also
fit the 5 speed Dodge lever. The threads on the shift lever and
transfer case lever are the same on the Dodge trucks. The threads are
10mm x 1.5mm if there's any doubt about whether or not it will fit.
We'll have more applications for this knob in the near future, so if you
have a truck that needs a new knob, send us an e-mail and we'll make
one up to fit your truck.
See our how-to article in the learning center for info on how to remove
the shift knob on a Dodge truck. If you've never done it, it may not be
as obvious as it seems.
